My dream two nights ago: Please bare with me I know this is long. There’s a lot but it’s because I wrote every detail down when I woke up. I have edited it for grammar mistakes and for the sake of making it easier to understand. The language is the same as directions for a film. I’m very good at capturing details. Please, please take the time if you have it. It’s worth it, I hope! This comes the second night of my tolerance break from smoking a lot of pot everyday. The first night I didn’t sleep at all and had nightmares every time I did fall asleep. I would love feedback as this is the most vivid dream I’ve had in years! Also I had no control over what happened. This was not a lucid dream. I’m technically watching from third person point of view. Like a camera following the action. Except I know I’m the scrawny tall kid. Same kind of look as Jaeden Martell from the movie It. I’m with my three best friends. I’ve never actually seen these kids in real life before, nor do I look like the scrawny kid that I’m playing as in this dream. There’s no showmance or love interests between any of us. The two girls have older styled hair like nineties “poof” for bangs, maybe it’s right at start of the 90s decade. My best friend is short, chubby with curly brown hair and freckles. He wears a red shirt and light blue cargo shorts. I’m in a dark blue shirt and grey shorts. The taller girl is blond with yellow hair and light pink tank top blouse. The other girl is chubbier in the face with puberty boobs. She’s in a light yellow tee. We’re all probably 8th graders maybe freshman in high school. No older or younger. I wish I could voice what they sounded like. It’s so distinct in my head. We go to the abandoned building, known as the Center, at our middle school because we hear of ghosts being there at night (it’s very vague why we’re here. I’m only assuming that’s why the dream started here). It’s an actual middle school I recognize. It’s St. Louis School in Lowell, Ma. “Center” is what we called it after we turned our church into an repurposed event building for school plays and other things. Picture a long wide empty complex meant to hold probably 400 people. It used to have pews and a stage at one of the building. I’m in college now. I graduated middle school in 2014. We go there at night and it transforms into this casino/museum/mansion/hotel. I could draw it if I had the patience. The ghosts are everywhere. They’re not all old corpses or scary. Some are young looking and healthy. They look like regular humans not transparent ghouls. They’re dressed in different outfits from different decades but it isn’t clear what time period they’re from. No one is from a super old time period so no romans or vikings. It’s like old American. No pilgrims. Their party is only there for a glimpse like a montage scene. The group and I aren’t there for that part. I’ve had this dream before. I swear I have. Then the ghosts go away and the Center is left as a wreck. Like after a huge party trashed. There’s old paintings covered up by big grey sheets/cloths and there are columns cracked and old like it’s been YEARS since that said party happened. There’s a bunch of old coins and chips stacked on the floor and sprawled across it. There’s big heavy dark red curtains that fell from where they hung near the back walls. It’s dark now, the lighting comes from high windows but it’s dimly lit. Still easy to see like watching a film in a dark theater. The windows are stain glass with different colors but the light remains consistently white balanced. We’re not really walking a lot, we run but the camera angle I have is very steady and paced to a slower rhythm. At one side of the center is an alter but it’s not religious it’s more of a stage that has marble stairs. We don’t go here till the end. It’s not really scary ghost - until the end. It’s more of a fascination and fun adventure vibe. We go to the hallway that’s opposite the stage and it’s got different rooms setup like classrooms. We’re in this room with a huge statue that hums and she’s the first ghost we meet. She’s made of old red clay. Very Egyptian vibe. She’s beautiful but she can’t move her body except her neck and slight facial gestures. She’s very sweet and smiles at us a lot. She’s stuck in a red clay bird cage. The room itself is made of old red clay bricks too. It’s dusty. She has us cling to the sides of her cage (again, when I have the time I can draw it), and we’re told a poem or something of a riddle. The floor opens underneath us and we’re dropped and plummet. We’re super scared at first. We don’t understand how we’re back where we started in the dream. We go back to the hallway and repeat this again. Skinny me figures out we need to find her something. I cannot remember what we needed to do, but I knew we had to go back to her. We drop again and we’re not going to the center we fall in a dusty red mud brick room like an egyptian grave. We had to do a task for her I cannot remember. Then we go over to the librarian ghost that’s parallel to the Clay Room. He tells us we have to find a certain book. He’s kind of like a pervert and gets really close to my face. The camera view is a close up shot. He’s got a blue and yellow aura but for the most part he’s human looking. He looks like Paul Giamatti from Big Fat Liar. Back to finding his book. It’s a white little soft cover book like the old books that have browning paper. The library space is so small and messy and books fill the floors. You can’t get to the back of the room because of the mounds of books stacked. We’re discouraged at first because we think the book he wants will be impossible to find. Then I realize we have to climb a stack of books behind the door and then hold on to the door and try our best to stretch up and grab the white book with the little boy’s face in the middle of a golden circle. I almost fall and it’s scary. The pedo librarian becomes somewhat dark and impatient now. I finally make a last ditch effort and grab the book. From there we go to this other woman who’s a real OG ghost. She’s in a big poofy dress and also hums to herself. She’s transparent blue with some hues of baby blue but mostly dark navy and there are some pieces of her outfit that are black. It’s like a school uniform but dramatic. She’s around her 20s. She asks us to do some task but I can’t remember it. We see a younger ghost that looks like the daughter from the Adam’s Family. She’s lighter blue and some black to her outfit. She resembles the ghost lady. We don’t make any connections. The girl walks silently by but not in a creepy way. She’s kind of cute. Whatever we needed to get the ghost we get it. We do it. And then she tells us a riddle about age and pipes and spinning the time that shrieks. It makes us confused so we play with the old, white-coated pipes that are built in the rooms around us. It’s a boiler room that’s at the end of the hallway in between the Clay Room and library. The pips have red circular handles that you’re able to turn. The ghost spins them easily without even touching them but we can’t seem to budge them. Me and my boy best friend are so focused on the red wheels on the left side of the room while the girls split up and go to the other side. The ghost is frustrated with us and it’s only when it mentions something about [i cannot remember what] and her ghost powers spin the pipes red handles that the two girls seem to get it. The ghost leaves the room slowly and goes down the hallway. Find me when you’re done! She’s frustrated but somehow we know she’ll be at the stage at the opposite side of the Center. Us boys find something? And we think we figured the riddle out. Cut scene: we’re in front of the ghost at the stage. We’re just finishing up singing “Happy birthday to you.” We thought the ghost just wanted to be sung to and thought people forgot her birthday. The ghost is really confused and pissed off now. Her powers shake the whole Center. The girls yell from behind us and the camera stays near us boys but the focus shifts to the middle of the Center. “This what you wanted?” It’s the little blue ghost. It’s a younger form of the ghost herself. Or it’s her sister? But oh! The ghost is happy and leaves them alone but the Center is already collapsing and fired start from her power. Now those ghosts that were at the party are coming at us. They want more tasks done for them. We run and hide in the Clay room. We decide we can’t stay here forever and leave by falling through the floor like we did earlier. The Clay lady is the only one who’s not a dick to us. We are dropped back to the Center and see it is an even bigger mess now. Random silverware scattered. Black and white feather scarves tattered. The red drapes have black smoke coming off them and fires start behind certain areas of the columns. Cracks form on the walls. We are now running on a fancy rug of red and gold and end up in a new hallway decked out with gilded wall frames and paintings. Jazzy 20s music eerily plays from one of those weird looking record players with the big fancy horn on it. We run into a new ghost, a casino host “help me with these tickets!” And then two hostess with grey skin from the 30s “we need to make cocktails!” And then some zombies that are just aging corpses and one grabs my arm. He speaks but he’s inaudible. We turn to run further down what feels like a forever hallway. I don’t remember how or if we get out. Cut scene. I’m alone and in the middle school academic building. It’s day time and kids and teachers fill classrooms. I’m still the scrawny boy but my gang isn’t with me. I’m running through the halls (it’s weirdly a perfect transition scene from how we were running in the Center). I see this 5th grader who had a crush on me when I was actually in 8th grade. She swoons as she exits a classroom and sees me. Parallel to her this kid from high school walks out. He also was obsessed with me. I yell at him, “Fuck you his name.” The next door I go through is a pre-K classroom. I see my pre-k teacher with a bunch of kids. I yell “Hi Mrs. Beth! I miss you.” And she gives a genuine smirk that she usually gives. She’s standing in the center of the room and was bent over helping kids with crafts before I came in. I run up stairs to the third floor and realize I have to go back down to go out. For some reason I couldn’t go out the front door. I’m stopped by a teacher who looks like spring semester English Professor from Boston and the ghost librarian combined. He’s rude and aggressive and wants to know what I’m doing and doesn’t leave me alone. He’s basically the strict asshole teachers of a catholic middle school who’s only sense of power comes from controlling kids. I run from him and tell him I have no time to waste. I run to the opposite stair case and the teacher tries to grab my arm. I think thats totally crossing the line and yell at him to let go. For some reason he can’t just let me be and is mad that I’m not letting him know what I’m doing. He begins to lecture me about respect and I interrupt with a “shut the fuck up!” I run down the stairs and even jump a few steps to the platforms. “When I get you I’m going-“ I interrupt again with “oh yeah, how fast can you get down these stairs?” I run outside and the wind is strong and the sky is partly cloudy and red with even darker red clouds. A storm is brewing. Somethings wrong. This isn’t the real world it’s scarier. I run around the building. I think my best bet is to trick the asshole into thinking I’m far gone when in reality I’m just around the corner. I step down the six steps that lead to the basement door. I hide there pushed up against the wall that will hopefully hide me from him. I can hear his footsteps. I am the camera view again. I see how out of breath skinny me freaking out. His footsteps get closer... But then I woke up. Ive had a dream in this center before. I remember its layout. Thank you to everyone who actually read! I appreciate you so much.

TORONTO, April 09, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MPX Bioceutical Corporation (“MPX” or the “Company”) (CSE:MPX) (OTC:MPXEF) is pleased to announce that the official opening of the its newest “Health for Life” medical marijuana dispensary in the Metropolitan Phoenix area, located at the junction of E. Main and Crimson in the suburb of Apache Junction. This brings the number of dispensaries under MPX management in Arizona’s Sun Valley to four. The Crimson dispensary will meet the needs of patients in this comparatively underserviced southeast quadrant of the region by making available the full spectrum of MPX concentrates, an extensive variety of cannabis flower, and a broad selection of 3rd party, processed cannabis-infused edibles. The Company also announces that it has relocated the processing and production of MPX concentrates to a new location in North Mesa. Phase one of the build-out at this facility, now in operation, will immediately double the current production capacity of MPX-branded products in Arizona to approximately 150,000 grams annually. The second phase scheduled for completion early in calendar Q3 will increase potential production to over 400,000 grams per year and the final phase expected in calendar Q4 will result in annualized capacity increasing to a total in excess of 800,000 grams annually with a wholesale value (at current prices) of approximately US$18 million.

The marijuana industry has become a popular spot for Fall River. According to MPX Bioceutical Corp, construction of a 40,000 square foot marijuana cultivation/processing facility on Innovation Way in Fall River, Massachusetts is targeted to be complete in the summer of this year with cultivation beginning in the third quarter of 2018. Cannatech Medicinals, who is owned by MPX Bioceutical Corp, has been working on the facility next to Amazon. They have also commenced construction on the first of three dispensaries in Massachusetts, including one at 160 Hartwell Street in Fall River near the Applebee’s restaurant. The Hartwell Street location will get their supply from the Innovation Way facility.
CannaTech Medicinals; Hope, Heal, Health; and Northeast Alternatives will all be in the running for licenses to grow and sell marijuana for the recreational market. Recreational sales are scheduled to start July 1. CannaTech Medicinals is building a 50,000-square-foot growing facility and processing laboratory in the biopark on Innovation Way. It is also building a dispensary off Hartwell Street.

Hi everyone, I posted a few weeks back about starting to write a series about my adventures on the road - to inspire! I just finished the first section of my first story. This part takes place from 1 sunset to the next - adventures of 1 day on the road. This is part of a longer segment about a road trip to Coachella.... I hope you enjoy: ps. any feedback greatly appreciated It’s 4:45pm on a cold April evening in Boston, I’m counting the minutes and seconds 'till I can dart out of my office and head to the airport. I have my carry on bag and backpack with me at my desk, and my mind is far from work. My father, who happened to be in the city for meetings, is waiting outside to take me to the airport. The clock strikes 5 and I am gone before the big hand ticks again. I smoke a quick spliff on the sidewalk around the corner and then hop in my father’s car - I’m officially on vacation. He drops me off, we say our goodbyes, and I arrive at the airport with enough time to have 2 beers before my flight. As I sit in my window seat waiting for takeoff, I slowly watch the sunset over the Boston skyline, only imagining what the next couple of sun sets will look like from the west. I couldn’t imagine everything I would see before the next time the sun set. The plane took off at 8pm. I’m usually the type of person to stare out the window for the entire plane ride, so much so that I usually leave the plane with a sore neck - but for this flight I knew I should sleep so I could be energized for what lay ahead. I managed to sleep for about 2 hours on the plane. I woke up to the captain calling for the final descent into Denver. We touched down in Denver in the midst of a late spring snow storm, 10:30pm local time. Syd was already at the Terminal West pickup zone waiting for me with his bags packed. We make a couple of quick stops to prep for the road (munchies and what-not) and off we went - headed West. The clock strikes Midnight as we get on the highway - it’s now officially 4/20 in Colorado, I’m overwhelmed with joy, excitement, and weed smoke. Syd took the initiative and picked up an ounce for our trip - each gram was in its own bag which was odd at the time but came in handy later on in the trip. Just a few hours ago, I was in my cubicle - now I’m in Denver on 4/20, every adolescents dream. This was just the very beginning. Exiting Denver heading West, I started to notice the drastic change in landscape. Denver sits at the very edge of the plains that spread across middle America from Pennsylvania to literally Denver. East of Denver is plains, farmland, and corn for 1,500 miles. Each farm and cornfield a spitting image of the previous one. West of Denver is the most beautiful, drastic, diverse scenery all the way to the Pacific Ocean. You have what seems like unlimited options to choose from once passing through the rockies - head southwest for desert, head norwest for ancient forests and god’s country, head directly west for a mix of both and everything in between. This trip we were going southwest. We zoomed into the rockies with snow getting heavier by the minute. I started to get nervous but remembered how I was here back in February with the same road conditions and the same fright. I then remembered how well Syd could handle these roads, so I chilled out. We passed by Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, and Keystone ski resorts, and I started to reflect about my 2 weeks of snowboarding here only 2 months prior in February. I thought about how I would love to snowboard here again one day. Little did I know, I would be working for Keystone the following Winter (more on that later). With Keystone in our rear view, we quickly approached Breckenridge, then Copper, then Vail, and then Beaver Creek. Coming from the East Coast it was hard to believe that all of these world class resorts were all within 45 minutes of each other. You can drive 10 minutes in any direction in Summit County, Colorado and arrive at a world class resort. Once we passed Beaver Creek the snow started to subside and you could see dirt and grass start to be evermore present. A relief from the harsh storm. I was now more relaxed and slept for an hour or 2. I woke up to see an array of lights in the near distance, a massive city- like region as far as the eyes could see. We were approaching Grand Junction, CO, a city declared in the late 1800s as a “grand” junction of the mighty Colorado River and it’s largest tributary, the Gunnison River. Grand Junction is Colorado’s wine country and the closest civilization to Grand Mesa, the world's largest flat-topped mountain which covers hundreds of miles. I was in awe as it seemed to go on forever. We passed through Grand Junction and immediately crossed over into Utah around 4AM, and I took the wheel. One thing that strikes me about these Western states is you can actually see and feel yourself crossing into another state without there being any formal notice or signs. The way the land drastically changes is amazing. As soon as we entered Utah everything around us started getting more colorful. The brown dirt changed to red clay, the tan grass of Western Colorado quickly changed to green cactuses (or cacti?). The snowy mountains changed to rainbow-colored hills and otherworldly rock formations. I felt like I had just left planet earth and landed on Mars. “This is the coolest place ever” I said to Syd. I continued on in admiration for about an hour, then I could see the very first sign of the sun rising in my rearview mirror. What I thought was beautiful before instantly appeared way more spectacular. I was in awe, trying to soak everything there was to see. I’m lucky that I didn’t drift off the road during these gazes, but luckily the Utah highway was straight and flat, with no other cars at this hour. Each and every minute grew more beautiful as the sun rose higher and higher in my mirrors. It seemed as if the sun was chasing us from the east as we bolted west at a steady 80mph. Once the sun was about halfway up the horizon behind us everything started to brighten up from the darkness of the night. I pulled over at a rest stop to climb a hill and watch the sunrise over the utah desert. I found a boulder at the top of the hill perched over a valley, and watched the sun slowly illuminate hundreds of miles of desert. I will never forget it. Now that it was bright as day, I hopped back into the driver’s seat and continued on. Syd woke up from a snooze; I tried to describe what I had just witnessed but no words could do justice. From there on, I pulled over at every scenic viewpoint that we came across, which seemed like every 10 minutes. They each got better and better the further into Utah we ventured. Sand Bench, Ivie Creek, Devil’s Canyon, Ghost Rock, Spotted Wolf, San Rafael Reef, Black Dragon Canyon, and Crescent Junction to name a few. We probably lost an hour off of our ETA for these stops, but to me they were priceless, and I didn’t care the least. By this time it was around 8am and the temperature had now reached a comfortable 70 degrees. From here the windows would be down for the rest of the trip. After about 8 hours of cruising I-70 from the snowy Rocky Mountains through the Utah desert, we passed through Fishlake National Forest in Salina, UT and pulled onto interstate 15 to start heading South. The desert had now transformed into an oasis with green grasses growing, wildflowers budding, trees waving in the gentle wind, and chirping birds greeting the morning. It was like entering a whole different environment yet there was still snow capped mountains in the near distance. I could smell the beautiful scent of the valley and everything it had to offer. I thought to myself how bad the streets of Boston stunk where my office was located, and how amazing this often overlooked section of the country had been so far. Syd was well rested at this point so we pulled over, took our shoes off to walk around the soft warm grass, had a quick beer while soaking in the morning, and hopped back on the road - Syd driving now. We only drove for about 10 minutes until we saw Our next stop was Zion National Park. We approached Zion National Park from the north, so we were able to get in without paying the national park dues. As we approached Zion, I was convinced that I had already seen the beauty of Utah, and that Zion National Park was going to look like the beautiful valley that we were in during our approach. I was wrong. We traversed the winding road that leads into the northwestern park of the park and then she revealed herself. The sheer beauty of this valley is almost indescribable, and only the finest poets could barely do justice. All of a sudden we were hundreds of feet above this majestic garden of eden. Both Syd and I had to pick our jaws up from the car floor, and still remained speechless after that. We pulled the car over and sat there in awe and tried to absorb all the beauty that was in front of us. It reminded me of the old childs movie “The Land Before Time”. I imagined pterodactyls soaring above the cliffs, gazing over all sorts of other dinosaurs that roamed the valley floor. There were emerald rivers below me and massive cliff walls surrounding me with trees and plants growing everywhere. Every color on the spectrum could be seen in this little speck nature. I pictured the natives who used to call this place home and how it must have felt to discover this desert oasis. I felt one with nature here. Syd and I must have spent an hour sitting here and admiring this beauty. We had to get going so I took one last gaze, and went back in the car. I told myself I would come back here to really explore the place. I sure did, but that adventure comes in a later story. We left Zion and had Las Vegas in our sights. Zion is only about 2 hours away from Las Vegas, so we planned on that being our next stop/point of interest. Right around this time, about 10AM, we realized that we had left Denver about 10 hours ago and needed some food. We decided we would wait until Vegas, but then all of a sudden a mirage appeared in the desert. “That is a mirage, right Syd?”. “It must be”. I got overwhelmed with excitement as my mouth started watering, the mirage got closer. “That mirage looks pretty real” “But it can’t be...we’re in Utah”. Yup, it was real. I rubbed my eyes to be sure. We pulled up to the Washington, UT exit signs and there was a billboard that read “In-N-Out 1 mile”. I hadn’t been that happy in a while. We checked what time they opened: 10:30 AM, we checked our clock: 10:20 AM. It was a miracle. We smoked a joint and walked in as they were taking down the “closed” sign. Now here is where I had another “holy shit it’s a small world” moment. Throughout my life I had always had these weird coincidences where I see someone I know while on vacation or somewhere hundreds/thousands of miles away. From seeing a college friend at a resort in Puerto Rico, to sitting next to my hometown buddy on a plane from the DR, to sitting across the table from a classmate in the Bahamas. As I was munching my burger, in the middle of Southerwestern Utah, two people from my highschool walked in. An older couple that was I think 3 years above me. Now we didn’t know each other well enough, so we didn’t speak but we all looked at each other with the “WTF?” eyes, and continued to pretend not to know each other, even though we both knew our stories started in a small coastal town in MA. “What a small world” I thought as I finished my burger (animal style, of course). We hopped back in the car and in a flash we were in Las Vegas. I was very excited to finally see Las Vegas. I was reminiscing of all the crazy stories ive heard and movies ive seen, portraying this to be the place of no rules where everyone leaves with a crazy story that they can’t tell their mother (I do have a crazy vegas story, but thats from a different road trip). Well, not at 1:00pm I guess. We drove up and down the strip feeling like movie stars with our arms and feet hanging out the window, trying to show off my fake Y-3 shoes (SMH). Vegas is a whole nother world during the day, and there is not much to be excited about. We parked the car at Caesars Palace and roamed around the casino, only to find desperate slot-goers at this hour. It was kind of depressing. After an hour of roaming the strip and fantasizing in the Louis Vuitton and Gucci stores, we decided it was time to leave Vegas. The next time I was in Vegas turned out to be a lot more...fear and loathing-ish, we’ll get to that later. After Vegas we were ready to get to California. We decided we would only stop for gas from this point on, and set our sites on San Diego. The goal was to race there fast enough to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean before heading to Coachella the following day. My cousin lived in San Diego at the time and welcomed us to stay the night at his house before the festival. We drove and drove racing the sun which was starting to gain on us. We crossed into California and kept driving until we hit San Bernardino and came to a complete stop. There was traffic for as far as the eyes could see. “Are you kidding me? LA traffic all the way out here” while it might not have specifically been LA traffic, there was certainly bumper-to-bumper traffic all the way to LA. “wow, people aren’t joking about LA traffic” we laughed. Luckily after only a couple miles we pulled off the exit to head south to San Diego and were back cruising along. In what seemed like a close race against time, we pulled into Pacific Beach, San Diego right as the sun was reaching the point where it really starts to turn the color of the sky to a pinkish-peach color. It was so beautiful. We paced onto the boardwalk and got a perfect spot to watch the sun set over the surfers trying to catch their last waves before darkness. We stayed and watched in awe until there was no sun left to watch. As we were exiting the boardwalk we were overwhelmed with delicious smells of local vendors preparing food for the night crowd. It felt as if we entered a food truck convention, and thousands of people now fluttered in to get a taste of the local cuisine. We walked around aimlessly smelling and tasting all they had to offer. I had a couple beef and pork tacos and a churro; Syd had a freshly caught fish taco. From there we soaked everything in, breathed a sigh of relief for we had made it and reflected on what an incredible day we just had. From there we went to my cousins loft and relaxed with him, only to begin a new adventure tomorrow.

What I thought was beautiful before instantly appeared way more spectacular. I was in awe, trying to soak everything there was to see. I’m lucky that I didn’t drift off the road during these gazes, but luckily the Utah highway was straight and flat, with no other cars at this hour. Each and every minute grew more beautiful as the sun rose higher and higher in my mirrors. It seemed as if the sun was chasing us from the east as we bolted west at a steady 80mph. Once the sun was about halfway up the horizon behind us everything started to brighten up from the darkness of the night. I pulled over at a rest stop to climb a hill and watch the sunrise over the utah desert. I found a boulder at the top of the hill perched over a valley, and watched the sun slowly illuminate hundreds of miles of desert. I will never forget it. Now that it was bright as day, I hopped back into the driver’s seat and continued on. Syd woke up from a snooze; I tried to describe what I had just witnessed but no words could do justice. From there on, I pulled over at every scenic viewpoint that we came across, which seemed like every 10 minutes. They each got better and better the further into Utah we ventured. Sand Bench, Ivie Creek, Devil’s Canyon, Ghost Rock, Spotted Wolf, San Rafael Reef, Black Dragon Canyon, and Crescent Junction to name a few. We probably lost an hour off of our ETA for these stops, but to me they were priceless, and I didn’t care the least. By this time it was around 8am and the temperature had now reached a comfortable 70 degrees. From here the windows would be down for the rest of the trip. After about 8 hours of cruising I-70 from the snowy Rocky Mountains through the Utah desert, we passed through Fishlake National Forest in Salina, UT and pulled onto interstate 15 to start heading South. The desert had now transformed into an oasis with green grasses growing, wildflowers budding, trees waving in the gentle wind, and chirping birds greeting the morning. It was like entering a whole different environment yet there was still snow capped mountains in the near distance. I could smell the beautiful scent of the valley and everything it had to offer. I thought to myself how bad the streets of Boston stunk where my office was located, and how amazing this often overlooked section of the country had been so far. Syd was well rested at this point so we pulled over, took our shoes off to walk around the soft warm grass, had a quick beer while soaking in the morning, and hopped back on the road - Syd driving now. We only drove for about 10 minutes until we saw Our next stop was Zion National Park. We approached Zion National Park from the north, so we were able to get in without paying the national park dues. As we approached Zion, I was convinced that I had already seen the beauty of Utah, and that Zion National Park was going to look like the beautiful valley that we were in during our approach. I was wrong. We traversed the winding road that leads into the northwestern park of the park and then she revealed herself. The sheer beauty of this valley is almost indescribable, and only the finest poets could barely do justice. All of a sudden we were hundreds of feet above this majestic garden of eden. Both Syd and I had to pick our jaws up from the car floor, and still remained speechless after that. We pulled the car over and sat there in awe and tried to absorb all the beauty that was in front of us. It reminded me of the old childs movie “The Land Before Time”. I imagined pterodactyls soaring above the cliffs, gazing over all sorts of other dinosaurs that roamed the valley floor. There were emerald rivers below me and massive cliff walls surrounding me with trees and plants growing everywhere. Every color on the spectrum could be seen in this little speck nature. I pictured the natives who used to call this place home and how it must have felt to discover this desert oasis. I felt one with nature here. Syd and I must have spent an hour sitting here and admiring this beauty. We had to get going so I took one last gaze, and went back in the car. I told myself I would come back here to really explore the place. I sure did, but that adventure comes in a later story. We left Zion and had Las Vegas in our sights. Zion is only about 2 hours away from Las Vegas, so we planned on that being our next stop/point of interest. Right around this time, about 10AM, we realized that we had left Denver about 10 hours ago and needed some food. We decided we would wait until Vegas, but then all of a sudden a mirage appeared in the desert. “That *is* a mirage, right Syd?”. “It must be”. I got overwhelmed with excitement as my mouth started watering, the mirage got closer. “That mirage looks pretty real” “But it can’t be...we’re in Utah”. Yup, it was real. I rubbed my eyes to be sure. We pulled up to the Washington, UT exit signs and there was a billboard that read “In-N-Out 1 mile”. I hadn’t been that happy in a while. We checked what time they opened: 10:30 AM, we checked our clock: 10:20 AM. It was a miracle. We smoked a joint and walked in as they were taking down the “closed” sign. Now here is where I had another “holy shit it’s a small world” moment. Throughout my life I had always had these weird coincidences where I see someone I know while on vacation or somewhere hundreds/thousands of miles away. From seeing a college friend at a resort in Puerto Rico, to sitting next to my hometown buddy on a plane from the DR, to sitting across the table from a classmate in the Bahamas. As I was munching my burger, in the middle of Southerwestern Utah, two people from my highschool walked in. An older couple that was I think 3 years above me. Now we didn’t know each other well enough, so we didn’t speak but we all looked at each other with the “WTF?” eyes, and continued to pretend not to know each other, even though we both knew our stories started in a small coastal town in MA. “What a small world” I thought as I finished my burger (animal style, of course). We hopped back in the car and in a flash we were in Las Vegas. I was very excited to finally see Las Vegas. I was reminiscing of all the crazy stories ive heard and movies ive seen, portraying this to be the place of no rules where everyone leaves with a crazy story that they can’t tell their mother (I do have a crazy vegas story, but thats from a different road trip). Well, not at 1:00pm I guess. We drove up and down the strip feeling like movie stars with our arms and feet hanging out the window, trying to show off my fake Y-3 shoes (SMH). Vegas is a whole nother world during the day, and there is not much to be excited about. We parked the car at Caesars Palace and roamed around the casino, only to find desperate slot-goers at this hour. It was kind of depressing. After an hour of roaming the strip and fantasizing in the Louis Vuitton and Gucci stores, we decided it was time to leave Vegas. The next time I was in Vegas turned out to be a lot more...fear and loathing-ish, we’ll get to that later. After Vegas we were ready to get to California. We decided we would only stop for gas from this point on, and set our sites on San Diego. The goal was to race there fast enough to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean before heading to Coachella the following day. My cousin lived in San Diego at the time and welcomed us to stay the night at his house before the festival. We drove and drove racing the sun which was starting to gain on us. We crossed into California and kept driving until we hit San Bernardino and came to a complete stop. There was traffic for as far as the eyes could see. “Are you kidding me? LA traffic all the way out here” while it might not have specifically been LA traffic, there was certainly bumper-to-bumper traffic all the way to LA. “wow, people aren’t joking about LA traffic” we laughed. Luckily after only a couple miles we pulled off the exit to head south to San Diego and were back cruising along. In what seemed like a close race against time, we pulled into Pacific Beach, San Diego right as the sun was reaching the point where it really starts to turn the color of the sky to a pinkish-peach color. It was so beautiful. We paced onto the boardwalk and got a perfect spot to watch the sun set over the surfers trying to catch their last waves before darkness. We stayed and watched in awe until there was no sun left to watch. As we were exiting the boardwalk we were overwhelmed with delicious smells of local vendors preparing food for the night crowd. It felt as if we entered a food truck convention, and thousands of people now fluttered in to get a taste of the local cuisine. We walked around aimlessly smelling and tasting all they had to offer. I had a couple beef and pork tacos and a churro; Syd had a freshly caught fish taco. From there we soaked everything in, breathed a sigh of relief for we had made it and reflected on what an incredible day we just had. From there we went to my cousins loft and relaxed with him, only to begin a new adventure tomorrow.

DowDupont – The chemical maker beat estimates by 3 cents a share, with adjusted quarterly profit of 74 cents per share. Revenue was slightly below forecasts, however. Newfield Exploration – Newfield agreed to be bought by Canadian oil and gas producer Encana in an all-stock deal valued at C$5.5 billion, or $4.2 billion in U.S. dollars. Encana plans to raise its dividend by 25 percent and expand its share buyback program once the deal closes.
Apple – Apple is in talks to buy a stake in radio station operator iHeartMedia, according to the Financial Times. The paper said Apple could also announce a marketing partnership rather than an investment.
Cigna – The insurance company reported adjusted quarterly profit of $3.84 per share, beating the consensus estimate of $3.44 a share. Revenue also beat forecasts, thanks in part to a drop in medical costs for its government health-care plans.
Teva Pharmaceutical – The drugmaker beat Street forecasts by 14 cents a share, with adjusted quarterly profit of 68 cents per share. Revenue also topped forecasts, and Teva raised its full-year forecasts as key drugs continue to post strong sales.
Spotify – The music streaming service posted an unexpected profit for its latest quarter, with analysts having anticipated a loss. Revenue also exceeded forecasts, and Spotify's monthly average users jumped 28 percent to 191 million.
Generac – The maker of home and commercial power generators beat consensus estimates by 35 cents a share, with adjusted quarterly profit of $1.43. Revenue also beat Wall Street forecasts. Generac saw strength in all its markets, as well as an increase in profit margins.
Tempur Sealy – The mattress retailer fell 16 cents short of estimates with adjusted quarterly profit of $1.02 per share, while revenue also missed Street forecasts. The company also cut its earnings forecast.
Hanesbrands – The apparel maker matched Street forecasts with adjusted quarterly profit of 55 cents per share, but revenue fell short of estimates. The company said overall performance was partly impacted by the Sears bankruptcy, but gave what it calls a "confident" outlook.
AIG – AIG lost an adjusted 34 cents per share for the third quarter, surprising analysts who had expected a profit of 6 cents per share. The insurance company's results were impacted by significant catastrophe losses in North America and Japan.
Fitbit – Fitbit earned an adjusted 4 cents per share for its latest quarter, compared to expectations of a 1 cent per share loss. The wearable fitness device maker's revenue also topped estimates, although the company did give mixed current-quarter guidance.
Roku – Wedbush upgraded the maker of streaming video devices to "outperform" from "neutral," saying a recent pullback in the stock was overdone and that it has built an exceptional platform to support its players.
Allstate – Allstate reported adjusted quarterly profit of $1.93 per share, shy of the $2.21 a share consensus estimate. The insurer's revenue came in above Street forecasts, however, and the company also announced a new $3 billion stock buyback plan.
Las Vegas Sands, Wynn Resorts — Shares in the casino operators may benefit from the news that gambling revenue in Macau rose 2.6 percent in October from a year earlier to about $3.4 billion, the highest monthly figure in four years. Gambling revenue in the Chinese territory has now risen for 27 straight months.
Pfizer – Pfizer was downgraded to "market perform" from "outperform" at BMO Capital Markets in what the firm said is a valuation call. The drugmaker's stock is up almost 19 percent so far this year.
SeaWorld Entertainment – SeaWorld was upgraded to "overweight" from "sector weight" at Keybanc, which cites higher confidence that the theme park operator will have a successful turnaround.
